10/2/2011 - September 2011 -- When the call went out requesting musical support in the Washington D.C. area, the Air National Guard Band of the Southwest answered the call and quickly assembled a small jazz combo. The small group flew out to provided support to the 17th International Air Reserve Symposium, 27-29 September 2011 hosted by Lt General Harry M. Wyatt, Director, Air National Guard. The support helped to enable the United States Air Reserve Components to execute a program of events that was both educational and informative. Through the combined efforts of so many, the symposium succeeded in demonstrating the critical Air Reserve Components capabilities, engaging on topics and issues of mutual interest, and displaying the unrivaled cooperation of our Total Air Force. The 35 international partners were fully appreciative of the program and the effort of the United States team. The Air National Guard Band of the Southwest was proud to support Lt General Wyatt and the Guard Bureau in this unprecedented capacity within the Washington DC area.
